Parent Council News Details: Stonegate Christmas Hampers Dec 5-17 & Drivers Needed Dec 19 Our hamper campaign in support of Stonegate Community Health Centre is underway and has paired each class with a family in our community experiencing hard times. Grade parents Your grade parents will have provided you with more information about your partner family and are coordinating donated items. Please note we are looking for volunteer drivers on December 19. We need drivers who have SUVs or large cars to help deliver the baskets between 9:00-11:00. Pizza Lunches for January to June – Order Deadline Extended to January 11 Pizza lunch orders are now accepted for the rest of the school year. Winter Coat and Boot Drive – A Great Success! Thank You! This week children at Second Street Junior Middle School in the Lakeshore and Royal York area received many donation bags from LKS. In total, there were 68 winter coats (girls 35, boys 33) and 80 pairs of boots (girls 50 and boys 30). Snow pants, hats, scarves and mitts where also part of the donations. Mr. Lowry, the principal of Second Street Junior Middle School was very appreciative of all our efforts and would like to thank everyone for their donations. School News and Activities Details: We Scare Hunger Food Drive – Thank you! Thank you LKS for supporting the We Scare Hunger Food Drive! Your generous support helped us to raise over 2500 pounds of food. On behalf of the many people in our community who rely on the Daily Bread Food Bank, the We Scare Hunger club thanks you. February is Kindergarten Registration Month We look forward to welcoming our newest LKS community members! To attend Junior Kindergarten in September, children must be four years old by December 31, 2019. To register for Senior kindergarten, children must be five years old before December 31, 2019. Our official registration dates at LKS are Tuesday, February 19 and Wednesday, February 20 between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. Parents can start the registration process online starting February 4 by going to www.tdsb.on.ca/kindergarten and completing the online registration form. Once you have completed the registration form, call the school at (416)394-7890 to book an appointment to submit the required documents and for you and your new Kindergarten student to meet a Kindergarten teacher. If you would prefer to pick up the registration forms from the office and fill them out at home on paper instead of online, that’s fine too. The paper forms will be available starting February 1 as well. When you come to your scheduled appointment, please remember to bring:
