Spirit Week – December 13th – 17th: Our Student Council has planned a spirit week for our students this year. Each day of the week students are encouraged to participate and show their Lambton-Kingsway spirit. Our Spirit Week includes:
Monday, December 13th – Decorate Festive Masks (Holiday/Winter Theme)
Tuesday, December 14th – Candy Cane Day (Wear red and white)
Wednesday, December 15th – Festive ‘Fits (Wear festive hats and socks)
Thursday, December 16th – Holiday Sweater day
Friday, December 17th – Pyjama Day (Greet winter with comfortable pjs)
Door Decorating: Our classes have begun their holiday/winter door decorating. We look forward to their creativity and imagination. Watch our twitter feed @LambtonKingsway for photos of our doors.
Lunch time and Nearby Skating Rink: Our Grade 6 – 8 students enjoy the privilege of being able to leave the school property at lunch time. With this privilege comes the responsibility to be safe and respectful of the community. Some of our students go home for lunch, others purchase their lunch in the community and spend time with their friends. Recently, the city Parks and Recreation has added ice for winter in the nearby tennis courts/skating rink. All students are reminded that safety is always a priority, the rink is for skating and that all skaters should be wearing helmets when on the ice. Parents and families are reminded that the rink is not supervised by school staff at any time.
Rapid Covid Tests for Students: The Government of Ontario is providing take-home rapid antigen screening kits for every child who attends a publicly funded school in Ontario. The test kits are an important tool as we all work to manage the spread of Covid-19. Each student will receive a box containing 5 tests on Monday, December 13th. The use of the test kits is voluntary with the goal to help reduce transmission of the Covid-19. Please see the attached letter from Interim Associate Director, Craig Snider, for more information. Here is a presentation demonstrating How to Use the Rapid Tests.
Toronto Kids Vaccine Day – December 12th: Toronto Public Health will be holding a vaccine day for children age 5 – 11 on Sunday, December 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Scotiabank Arena.
Picking Up Students During the School Day: Our students occasionally have commitments during the school day and need to be picked up by a parent or family member. As the TDSB guidelines ask that we continue to limit the number of visitors to the building, parents are reminded to remain outside the school doors and your child will be sent out to you. We thank you for your cooperation and look forward to the time when we can welcome our families back into our building.
Covid Forms:
Student Health Pass is available on the main landing page of the TDSB website. More information about the daily health screening is available here.
Back to School Confirmation Form – If a child is home or sent home from school with symptoms of Covid this form should be completed and brought to school on the first day of return.
