June 4 – PA Day:  There will be no school on June 4 as it is a Professional Activity Day for staff who will begin to prepare assessments and report data for the final reports for students.

June is Pride Month:  June is Pride Month at the TDSB!  It’s an opportunity to celebrate diversity and raise awareness among all staff and students about the rich culture and history of our LGBTQ community.  Every year, during the month of June, the LGBT community celebrates in a number of different ways. Across the globe, various events are held during this special month as a way of recognising the influence LGBT people have had around the world.

Lambton-Kingsway will be flying the Pride flag during this month as we recognize the contributions of and support for our LGBT population in our school and greater community.

Thank You School Council and Parents:  This week our staff received a pleasant surprise email.  Prior to the decision by the Ministry to have all students return to virtual learning, our School Council had planned a staff appreciation lunch.  Instead of a lunch, this week staff received a supportive email and a gift card.  Your kindness towards our entire staff is greatly appreciated and has provided encouragement for all.

Grade 7 Camp Week:  Our Grade 7 students may be learning at home, but they did not miss the fun and excitement of camp.  Throughout this week, students prepared for and participated in a number of activities beginning with pillow fort building on Tuesday.  Throughout the week students created sang songs, created scary stories and enjoyed scavenger hunts, challenges and races.  The week finished with a campfire evening in which our students had an opportunity to display their story telling and singing talents while roasting marshmallows.

Borrowed TDSB Computers – Return: The TDSB recently sent out a message to all parents that borrowed computer devices can be returned to the nearest school beginning June 14th.  Our students may need to continue to use the devices to access their classes until the end of the year.  Devices can also be returned to the school on June 28th, 29th and 30th
