Lambton-Kingsway Families,
The TDSB sent out an email to all families indicating that Toronto Public Health has made a decision to close all Toronto schools from Wednesday, April 7th up to and including Sunday, April 18th. The message was sent to parents by email at approximately 2:30 p.m. today.
Although our preference would be to remain in school, we do understand the importance of taking precautions to keep individuals in our communities and cities as safe as possible. Our students and staff are prepared for a change to remote learning. Students have retuned home with any personal belongings and classroom materials necessary for the next three days. Virtual classrooms have remained active and the students continue to be familiar with the procedures and resources necessary for learning online. During the next three days, students will engage in remote learning following a similar schedule to that of January and February of this year. Next week, the Spring Break will continue as planned. We await further updates from Toronto Public Health, the Ministry of Education and the TDSB in regard to learning after the Spring Break.
We know that the Toronto Public Health order will impact families differently, however, we will do our best to support our students during this time. As this message is an initial communication, you may have further questions. When further information is available to us, we will communicate with you. In the meantime, we urge all of our families to remain safe and to follow Covid safety protocols to the best of your ability.
Sincerely,
C. Howe, Principal
