Sports Spirit Day – Friday, March 5th:  Lambton-Kingsway students have great spirit.  Our Student Council has declared that each Friday in March is to be a spirit day.  The first day, ‘Sports Day’ occurred this week.  Students were given the opportunity to wear their favorite sports team jerseys, team colours or Lambton-Kingsway.  To any observer it was clear that our students are well rounded in their love of sports, however LKS team colours are still their favourite.

Beach Day – Friday March 12th:  The Student Council has declared that each Friday in March will be a school spirit day.  Join us Friday, March 12 for beach day!! We will be dressing like we are going to the beach (also according to the weather).  Some examples of the things you can wear are hats, sunglasses, slides, flip flops, shorts (over pants) and more!  We can’t wait to see your ‘beachy’ outfits. – LKS Student Council.

Monday March 8th International Women’s Day:  A day to celebrate progress made and raise awareness of the work that needs to be done to ensure the full participation of women and girls for future generations.  International Women’s Day had its first celebration in 1911 and has since been celebrated each year for over a century. The goal? To recognize incredible women, their achievements, and their futures!

National Day of Unplugging:  From sundown March 5th to sundown March 6th, the National Day of Unplugging campaign promotes a 24-hour respite from technology.  Our world is becoming increasingly reliant upon technology of all forms.  Participating in activities can provide individuals with a much needed break from phones, computers and much more.  We encourage families to enjoy reading, cooking, hiking, board games and card games and so much more while you set aside your devices for a day.

School Entry After Hours: On occasion, students may forget items at school and would like to return after hours to gather these belongings.  Although we appreciate the diligence in being responsible, we do ask our students not to enter the building after dismissal until we have a change in our Covid procedures, as this can complicate enhanced cleaning effectiveness.

Covid Safety Reminder #1:  Students parents and families are reminded of Toronto Public Health guidelines in regard to travel outside of the country.  If a student or member of the household has travelled outside of the country, the student and family members are to quarantine at home for a period of 14 days.  Thank you to our families who continue to take precautions in an effort to keep everyone safe.

Covid Safety Reminder #2:  Students and families are reminded that when on school property, all individuals should be wearing a mask to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and variants.  Students are also reminded to leave the school property when dismissed at the end of the day.
