  • 1 slice of cheese pizza and 1 treat for $5.60
  • 2 slices of cheese pizza and 1 treat for $8.60

Order by September 26 for September-December 2019 pizza lunches. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate late sign-ups. A separate sign-up will be available in January for the remainder of the school year lunches.

Pizza Lunch Dates:

  • 2020 – January 24, February 21, March 27, April 17, May 22, June 25 (Lunch on the Lawn)

Your participation is appreciated, as all funds raised go to LKS.

Stay tuned for invitations from your Grade Parents to volunteer for pizza lunches. It is not a big time commitment, a great way to help out the school and offers your child a chance to see you at school and your child will feel proud to show off their parent.

Crossing Guard Reporting – Call 311

We continue to experience challenges with the absence of crossing guards at our crosswalks on Prince Edward Drive, both on Prince Edward Dr and at the Prince Edward Dr/Government Rd intersection. Please call 311 to report the absent crossing guards to the City of Toronto. Each location must be reported separately.

Parent Council Meeting – Sept 23 @ 7pm

All parents are welcome to attend the first Parent Council meeting of the 2019-2020 school year. The new executive will be elected and Mr. Currie will provide an update on school activities and priorities for the year. Childcare will be provided.

SCHOOL NEWS:

After School Program Sign Ups – Flyers Attached

Terry Fox Campaign – Kick-Off Assembly Fri., Sept 13 @ 1:30pm

It’s that time of year again, our Annual Terry Fox Campaign.  Students should have already brought home their pledge sheets.  Making a donation is easy….you can do it online at www.terryfox.org or by using the pledge sheets with cash or cheques made out to The Terry Fox Foundation.  Pledges will be collected until just after the Thanksgiving weekend. Our goal this year is to beat last years’ total.  We are aiming for $22,456.20. We are hoping to surpass half-a-million in total dollars raised at LKS. As in the past, there will be fun activities for students for every $5,000 raised.

The Terry Foxers are once again hosting a raffle with lots of great prizes, starting on Tues. Sept. 10 at lunch.  Tickets are 1 for $1.00 or 3 for $2.00. Parents are being invited to check out the Raffle table during the corn roast / Curriculum Night, outside of the office.  Prizes include: a Logitech gaming package, Leaf tickets, Jays tickets, various gift cards, baked goods, ice dump on teachers, principal for the day, etc. There is also a basket of wine to be won, just for adults!

Terra Cotta nut-free Cookies are back!  However, this year, all orders will be done in advance, on-line using the Cashless system (just like ordering for pizza lunches).  No cookies will be sold to students during the lunch hour. Order your child a delicious cookie treat, with all proceeds going directly towards our Terry Fox Campaign.

Mark your calendars….our kick-off assembly will be on Friday, September 13 at 1:30pm featuring special guests: Terry’s niece, Alexandra, and the Executive Director of the Terry Fox Foundation, Ara Sahakian. And of course the Annual Terry Fox Walk on Thursday Sept. 26, after lunch.  All are welcome to join us for this wonderful community event! Together we can make a difference and keep Terry’s dream alive in finding a cure for cancer!

Lunch Lady

LKS students can order hot lunch two times per week – Wednesday and Thursday. You can view current menus and order online here: www.lunchlady.ca.
