Parent Council News and Activities Details: Parent Council Meeting – NEW DATE – Monday, April 1, 2019 The next meeting is Monday, April 1 @ 7pm in the LKS Library. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. Childcare will be provided in the computer lab during the meeting. February Minutes and Presidents Report Attached Springfest Planning: Games Volunteers Needed We need volunteers to help plan & organize for the big day! This year, Springfest will be on Saturday, June 1. There are openings available on the Games committee. Contact Greg Cunningham at Greg.cunningham2@gmail.com if you would like to help with games. Lost and Found Announcement The value of the Lost and Found items donated in January 2019 to the Jean Tweed Centre exceeded $1300. Once again, the Lost and Found is overflowing. Please have your children check the Cubby Shelves and Hooks on the South Wall of the school. School News and Activities Details: JK Parent Information Night – March 25 Mr. Currie and some of our awesome Kindergarten team will be hosting a Q&A session on Monday, March 25 at 6:15 pm in the lunchroom. Parents who have a new JK joining us in September are invited to join us for an information sharing session that will hopefully help put you at ease. EQAO Information Night – March 25 Mrs. Norton will be hosting an information session for all grade 3 and grade 6 parents who are interested in learning more about EQAO. This will take place in the library at 6:15 on Monday, March 25. Items Available Online for Purchase There are a number of items available at www.schoolcashonline with deadlines approaching. Willy Wonka Ticket Sales – Friday, March 8th to Sunday, March 31 Tickets can be ordered on www.schoolcashonline.com for no charge. Please be mindful of which performance you are ordering tickets for. There are three separate performances:
There is no assigned seating. Doors will open 30 minutes before curtain. We kindly ask that you do not order tickets for LKS students for the 12:45 show on Tuesday, April 9. All LKS students will have an opportunity to see the performance and will remain in class if they are not a part of the performance. There is a limit of 6 tickets per student and a maximum audience of 400. Tickets will be on sale until midnight, Sunday, March 31. Tickets will be sent home with your child the week of April 1. Chess Club Lunchtime on THURSDAYS April 3 to May 23 Please see the attached flyer for information about our lunchtime Chess Club. Please note the change in days from Wednesdays to Thursdays. Art in Action Join Art in Action at Lambton Kingswayfor a brand-new Spring art program! Create your own great works of art inspired by famous artists and places in Toronto. Our classes have an art history component that works with the elements and principles of design. Students will have the tactile experience of experimenting with a variety of art materials and techniques including: watercolours, acrylics, collage materials, oil pastels, chalk pastels and more. This art enrichment program is geared for success with approachable step-by-step projects. Create a new piece each week. Mondays, April 8 – June 10

He has written a book with Kobe Bryant and will be presenting it to our Grade 4 to 8 classes. Signed hardcover copies of his book will be available for $25 the day of the event and for about a week after. Students can pick them up at the library if they do not get them the day of the event.
